DADAHU

Dadadu is a small beautiful town in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh and is situated at a height of 640 meters from sea level. This small town is 35 km from Nahan. The famous natural lake Renuka Ji, named after the mother of Lord Parshuram is 2 km away from Dadahu. It is Situated on the foothills of mountains, Dadahu overlooks the meeting of two rivers which then take on a new direction as the river Giri which about 30 kms later drains into Yamuna.Surrounded by mountains on three sides some of which become snow peaked briefly in December/January and the two meeting rivers on the fourth side, Dadahu with its small friendly market is a charming place. There is a Govt. Rest House for which bookings have to be made in Nahan. For those planning to stay at a cheaper place there is "Kisan Bhavan" which is nice and friendly.
The total population is about 10000 and there is a 70 bedded hospital. Some of the hotels are Devicose Plaza, HP State Tourism Hotel at the edge of Renuka Ji lake. The lake Renuka Ji with a circumferance of 3.4 kms is surrounded by tall mountains.Home to a variety of birds and with a quiet stillness around it, it is a ideal place for the nature lover.One can feed fish and tortoises or go for a boat ride.The State Tourism Hotel on one end of the lake provides reasonably good accommodation and good vegetarian food.There are a few walking trails for the keen walker. Or one could spend his day relaxing by the lake. Tourists visit here to see natural beauty of renuka and himachal.
